Harry Potter Clue is Coming...

The LA Times has
a new article up highlighting how upset fans are at
Warner
Brother's decision to push back the release of Half-Blood Prince
to July 17th, 2009. They spoke with WB president Alan Horn (pictured left)
about the matter, who tried to come up with more reasoning:
Warner currently is riding high with "The Dark Knight," the Batman film
that also stars Bale. The grim super-hero movie has taken in $452 million
in the U.S. since its July 18 release, making it the second-highest
grossing film ever.
To some degree, that success motivated Warner to shift "Half-Blood
Prince," Horn said. The film will now hit theaters the same midsummer
weekend that "Dark Knight" was released this year. Horn said the young,
core Potter audience would be out of school and give the film a longer
theatrical life. It will now open opposite Universal's special-effects
comedy "Land of the Lost," which stars Will Ferrell. But Horn said there
was nothing next year compared to this summer's especially dense slate of
big-budget releases.
The article wrapped up with this quote from Horn: "We would never do
anything to hurt one of the movies or the series. We love our fans."
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood
Prince on the DS!

IGN.com:
Listen up, Muggles. The Harry Potter
movies are approaching a half dozen films and the plot has turned to
serious business. EA is taking their video game adaptations seriously,
too, and want these upcoming HP games to not only be fun, but really
convey the story that causes so many fans to knit their own scarves and
write horrible slash fiction. We got a chance to try out
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
for the Nintendo DS and see what's up with Harry, Ron, and Hermione's
sixth year (or as we like to call it, "The Make-out Year").

Potter Passes Star Wars and Bond!
Figures released by Warner Bros, the studio behind
the Harry Potter films, confirm that the series has become the
highest-grossing film franchise. The five Potter films released to date
have taken $4.47bn worldwide, more than the six Star Wars films and more
than the 22 Bond films. The Potter franchise still has one film on
release, the Order of the Phoenix, and two more set for release over the
next three years.
Since 1962, the Bond films have taken $4.44bn
worldwide, while the Star Wars films, dating from 1977, have taken
$4.23bn. The Lord of the Rings trilogy is estimated to have taken just
over $2.92bn worldwide. The figures produced by the studio do no take
inflation or ticket prices into account. "It's just a fun number," Warner
Bros president Alan Horn said. "It is not any way to diminish the box
office totals of Star Wars and the Bond movies." The glee may be
misplaced: Star Wars is still ahead of Potter in the US, grossing $2.18bn,
against Potter's $1.41bn.

SDCC Gentle
Giant Harry Potter Rundown!
It could be said this is the summer
of Potter. Gentle Giant does not disappoint by any means:
Nymphadora Tonks - Though previously seen - we did not know that her hair color
was to be purple. I am sure all fans of HP did a collective sigh of relief to
see Tonks with colored hair.
Voldemort statue - Well it is a statue per se - but the clothing/robes on him
are not all sculpted resin- but include fabric itself. . This is sure to be a
sell out!
Harry Potter statue -
appears to be in the same 1/4 Scale as Voldemorts complete with mixed media
format.
Bust-ups - Going full steam with this line, Gentle Giant previews Deatheaters
and more!
Harry on Threstral statue - On display and looking wonderful. This statue will
be another fan favorite.
